Greater Noida is seeing a flurry of development activities lately. This world class suburb is gone beyond just uninterrupted supply of drinking water, electricity and transport, to optical fibres for high speed Internet and ultra-modern retail spaces. The line-up of big projects in the year 2014 consists of –setting up of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) for Metro connectivity,a number of affordable housing projects, modern sewage treatment plant, government girl’s inter-college, medical university, district hospital, trauma centre and a 3,000 cars multilevel parking in Sector 18, and a heliport. 

With Mayawati not anymore in power, the new UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav sanctioned several hundred of crores for infrastructure projects over the last year. This is going to form the future of these two upcoming industrial cities.
The government has extensive plans to develop a green corridor to protect the Yamuna and Hindon riverbeds from mega urbanization of the region. There are plans to develop an amusement park, banquet halls, golf course, stadiums and more on the floodplains to curb encroachment.
